GoddardPayne worked with Matthew Horne and Barbara Spender to research and write the education case study contained within the NESTA research report 'Hidden Innovation: How innovation happens in six 'low innovation' sectors'.
'Hidden Innovation' takes an in-depth look at how innovation occurs in six sectors that are not traditionally perceived as innovative and perform poorly against traditional indicators such as spend on R&D and the number of patents produced: oil production, retail banking, education, construction, legal aid and prisoner rehabilitation. The education case study focused on the role of innovation intermediaries, such as The Innovation Unit, in the promotion and support of innovation. Download the publication.
