Barking and Dagenham is reforming the way it designs and delivers services for residents through the 'One Barking and Dagenham' programme.

As Chief Executive Rob Whiteman puts it, "What One B&D gives residents is a holistic approach to services – we provide a range of services to customers together rather than individually. This means we need to innovate and join services up where appropriate. For example when a domestic violence incident is reported; then the Police, paramedic,
social worker and domestic support officer all turn up and work together to
help the person, rather than individually."
